Abstract
In the power system, 10kV high-voltage switchgear As one of the key devices, it undertakes the important tasks of power distribution, control, and protection. To ensure its safe and reliable operation and prevent potential faults, regular preventive testing of high-voltage switchgear is essential. So, what preventive tests are needed for 10kV high-voltage switchgear?
First, insulation resistance testing is one of the basic items of preventive testing for high-voltage switchgear. Using tools such as meggers or megaohmmeters, the insulation resistance between phases, between phases and ground of the switchgear main circuit, and the insulation resistance of the control circuit are measured. This test aims to check whether the insulating material is aged, damp, or has other defects, thereby ensuring that the insulation performance of the switchgear meets the standard. Usually, the insulation resistance value should not be lower than the specified standard, such as the main circuit insulation resistance generally requires ≥1000MΩ.
Secondly, AC withstand voltage test is also an important item of preventive testing for high-voltage switchgear. This test verifies the insulation strength of the switchgear main circuit and other key parts by applying an AC voltage of a certain frequency and amplitude (such as 80% of the factory value or as stipulated by the standard) for a certain period of time (such as 1 minute). The withstand voltage test is a destructive test that can detect the breakdown or flashover of insulating materials under high voltage, thereby ensuring that the equipment will not malfunction due to insulation problems under normal operating voltage.
Loop resistance testing is also a key part of preventive testing for high-voltage switchgear. By measuring the loop resistance of the main circuit (including circuit breakers, isolators, etc.), it is possible to determine whether the contact points are good and whether there are problems such as poor contact or overheating. The magnitude of the loop resistance directly affects the current carrying capacity and heat dissipation performance of the equipment, so it must be strictly controlled within a certain range.
In addition to the above basic test items, high-voltage switchgear also needs to undergo mechanical characteristic tests. This test includes tripping time test, synchronization test, contact bounce time test, contact travel and over-travel test, etc. These tests aim to verify whether the mechanical operation of the switchgear is reliable and accurate, and whether it meets the design requirements and relevant standards. For example, the tripping time test can measure the total time of tripping and closing operations, including the inherent tripping/closing time, arc extinguishing time, etc., to ensure that the switch operation is quick and accurate. The synchronization test is used to verify the consistency of the three-phase contact tripping and closing actions to avoid mechanical stress and arc problems caused by asynchronism.
In addition, for high-voltage switchgear equipped with instrument transformers, instrument transformer tests are also required. This includes insulation resistance and withstand voltage tests, DC resistance measurement of windings, and turns ratio and polarity tests. These tests aim to verify the insulation performance, conduction condition, and the correctness of the turns ratio and polarity of the instrument transformers, thereby ensuring the accuracy of their metering and protection functions.
In preventive testing, grounding system testing is also an indispensable part. By measuring the grounding resistance and continuity of the grounding grid, it is possible to check whether the grounding system is good and whether there are problems such as poor grounding or breakage. The reliability of the grounding system is of great significance to ensuring the safety of equipment and personnel.
It should be noted that when conducting preventive tests, safety regulations and test procedures must be strictly followed. Before the test, it should be ensured that all test equipment is in good condition and that the test personnel are familiar with the test procedures and safety regulations. At the same time, power-off and isolation operations should be performed on the relevant equipment to prevent electric shock accidents. During the test, the safe state of the equipment should always be paid attention to, to prevent equipment damage or personal injury. After the test, the test data should be organized and analyzed to determine whether there are defects or faults in the equipment, and a detailed test report should be written based on the test results.
In summary, the preventive test items for 10kV high-voltage switchgear involve many aspects, including insulation resistance test, AC withstand voltage test, loop resistance test, mechanical characteristic test, instrument transformer test, and grounding system test. The implementation of these test items is of great significance to ensuring the safe and reliable operation of high-voltage switchgear. By regularly conducting preventive tests, potential defects and faults in the equipment can be found in time to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system.
