Abstract
Cable branch boxWidely used outdoors. With technological advancements, cable branch boxes with switches are becoming more common, and urban cables often use dual circuit power supply. Therefore, some people directly refer to branch boxes with switches as outdoor ring network cabinets. However, most of these ring network cabinets currently cannot achieve automated distribution, but manufacturers have introduced outdoor ring network cabinets that can automatically distribute power. So what are the differences between cable branch boxes and ring network cabinets?
1. The main function of the cable branch box is to disconnect or connect cables.
(1) Cable branching. The main cable from the socket to the power load is usually used as a socket and a socket. Because the choice of cables often wastes resources due to many narrow cables on long lines. Selecting a cable branch box near the load divides the main cable into small area cables for accessing loads. This wiring method is often used in urban power supply systems for roads, street lights, and small user power supply systems.
Cable junction boxes are usually used outdoors. With the development of new technologies, there are more and more cable junction boxes with control switches. Urban cable lines generally use dual circuit power supply, so some people use branches with direct control switches. Although referred to as outdoor ring cabinets, most ring cabinets currently cannot complete automated distribution, but suppliers have released outdoor ring cabinets that can automatically distribute power. This will blur the differences between cable branch boxes and ring cabinets.
(2) Cable transmission. On long-distance lines, the total length of cables may not meet the needs of the line, so cable connectors or cable adapter boxes must be selected. Generally speaking, intermediate connectors in cables are used in short-circuit situations, but in cases where operations involve long cables of about 1000 meters, experience shows that if there are many intermediate connectors in the cable, it can transmit through cable junction boxes to enhance safety.
2. Ring network cabinets are designed to achieve dual circuit or multi-circuit power supply, improving power supply reliability. Currently, advanced ring network cabinets can achieve automation and remote operation of distribution networks, and more and more cable branch boxes are using ring network cabinets.
3. Ring network cabinets have incoming and outgoing lines, and cable branch boxes also have them, so the difference should be in the power supply method rather than the outgoing method. Ring network cabinets can achieve dual circuit or multi-circuit power supply to ensure reliability of power supply. However, cable branch boxes do not have multi-circuit or dual circuit power supply capabilities. Ring network cabinets can achieve automated distribution and remote control, while cable branch boxes generally do not have such functions.
4. The cable branch box is a simplified version of the ring network cabinet, cheaper but less reliable. Generally lacks load switches. Ring network cabinets are expensive and highly reliable. Typically, three-position load switches, measuring devices, fuse protection, and circuit breakers can be installed on each incoming and outgoing line. Although they differ in performance from cable branch box ring network cabinets, they should be used according to certain standard processes to ensure good performance in electrical engineering.
