Abstract

The box-type substation is a common safety electrical device. After purchase, we will request the manufacturer to send someone for installation, but the models may differ during installation. Let's take a look.

Box-type substationIt is a common safety electrical equipment. After purchase, we will require the manufacturer to send someone for installation, but the models may differ during installation. Let's take a look below.

(1) The floor of the box-type substation should be placed at a higher location and not in low-lying areas to prevent rainwater from entering the box and affecting the operation of the equipment. When pouring the concrete platform, there should be gaps left on both high and low voltage sides to facilitate cable entry and exit. When excavating the foundation, if encountering ground formed by garbage or decomposed soil, it must be excavated to solid ground first, then backfilled with well-compacted soil, followed by filling with three-stone soil or ballast to ensure foundation stability.

(2) The grounding and neutral wire of the box-type substation share a grounding network. The grounding network is generally laid with grounding rods at the four corners of the foundation, then connected into one unit. There must be two reliable connections between the box-type substation and the grounding network. After the box-type substation is in operation, grounding connections should be regularly checked for looseness or rust, and grounding resistance values should be measured periodically; the grounding resistance should not exceed 4 ohms.

(3) The box-type substation mainly uses natural wind circulation for cooling. Therefore, there should be no illegal stacking around it, especially blocking the door of the distribution room, and attachments on louvers and vents should be regularly removed to ensure that all electrical equipment does not exceed the allowable temperature.

(4) After a low-voltage circuit breaker trips, check the cause of tripping before debugging. If power restoration is unsuccessful, thoroughly investigate the fault cause and eliminate it before restoring power to prevent accidents from escalating.

(5) An oxide zinc lightning arrester should be installed in the high-voltage distribution room of the box-type transformer, and the installation method must facilitate testing, disassembly, and replacement.

(6) Equipment such as ring main units, transformers, and lightning arresters in high-voltage distribution equipment should be regularly inspected and maintained. Defects should be repaired promptly, and regular insulation preventive tests should be conducted. If the box-type substation has been out of service for more than three months, all preventive tests should be conducted before it is put back into operation.

(7) When replacing high-voltage fuses without breaking capacity, the transformer must be powered off. During operation, correctly remove mechanical interlocking devices and use insulated operating rods.

(8) All cable entry and exit holes of the box-type substation should be sealed to prevent small animals from entering and causing accidents.

(9) There must be high-voltage hazard warning signs and electrical equipment nameplate numbers.

When installing different types of box-type substation equipment, installation should also consider environmental conditions so that operations can be performed as needed during use.
