Abstract
Low-voltage complete equipmentIt plays a role in switching, controlling, or protecting in power generation, transmission, distribution, energy conversion, and consumption. As a type of electrical equipment, if the device trips during operation, the entire circuit will short-circuit. So, what should we do if the device trips during operation? Please see the details below:
1. Determine the cause of the trip:
You can judge based on the relay card drop and alarm information. After the gas and temperature protection actions in the low-voltage complete equipment, there are corresponding indications of signal relay card drops. The overcurrent relay (GL type) cannot distinguish between overcurrent and instantaneous trip. In the timed protection circuit, overcurrent and instantaneous trip are protected by two (JL type) current relays respectively. When the relay operates, the red LED lights up, allowing for a clear determination of the cause of operation.
2. Handling methods:
(1) Due to line overload, the overcurrent relay causes the switch to trip. Before restoring power, negotiate with the user to reduce the load to prevent tripping again after power restoration.
(2) When an instantaneous trip occurs, check the busbar, transformer, and line. Before restoring power, locate and eliminate short-circuit fault points. Overcurrent and instantaneous trip protection can reset the relay after the switch trips, which can be distinguished from temperature and gas protection.
(3) In case of internal faults or overloads in transformers, gas and temperature protection actions occur. If internal faults in the transformer lead to heavy gas action, the transformer must be repaired. If a newly added fuel transformer has light gas action, it can continue operation after releasing internal gas. Temperature protection actions occur because the transformer temperature exceeds the set value. If the set value is correct, we must find ways to lower the transformer temperature; ventilation can reduce ambient temperature and also lower load and transformer temperature rise. If the set value is too low, it can be increased. Only by opening the temperature contact through the above methods can power be restored to the switch.
The causes of low-voltage complete equipment tripping are different, and so are their corresponding solutions. Therefore, when we find that equipment has tripped, we must carefully determine where the fault occurred and then take appropriate measures to resolve the issue.
