Abstract
PLC control cabinetIt plays an important role in the industrial field. As the core and soul of industrial construction and production, the existence of PLC control cabinets is indispensable. Although most control cabinets on the market look the same, the internal components and electrical elements are indeed very different. The internal composition of PLC control cabinets varies for different usage scenarios and purposes. With the maturity of technology, the internal components of PLC control cabinets will also change accordingly based on different uses and scenarios. Therefore, most PLC custom cabinets on the market are tailored to user requirements to allow for greater flexibility in specific usage scenarios.
What configurations are needed inside a PLC control cabinet?
1. Whether for household electricity or industrial electricity, air conditioning is an important part and a guarantee of our daily electricity use, so outdoor use is necessary. As a series of control cabinets used in industrial production, the presence of air switches is also essential. For control cabinets, turning on a main air switch controls the power supply for the entire cabinet, which is something every cabinet must have.
2. Not all PLCs are the same. Depending on the project, the selection of PLCs can vary greatly. One of the advantages of PLCs is personalized settings. Internal components can be configured according to different requirements. If the project is relatively small, an integrated PLC can be used directly; if the project is larger, modules and cards may be needed, and redundancy (i.e., two sets operating alternately) may also be required.
3. The PLC power switch is an important execution component for controlling the operation of the entire machine. All operational work is based on the opening and closing of switches. Most PLCs have their own 24VDC power supply, and it can also be decided whether to use this switch power supply based on actual conditions. The switch power supply needs to be the same size as the power supply that comes with the PLC control cabinet; a 24VDC power supply also needs to connect to a 24VDC switch power supply.
4. Relays generally allow PLCs to send commands directly to control circuits, but they may also pass through relays first. If the output port of the PLC charges at 24VDC but a node in the control circuit requires 220VAC powered by the PLC, then a relay must be added at the output port of the PLC; when issuing commands, the relay operates to connect the node in the control circuit to either the normally open or normally closed point of the relay. This decision depends on whether to use a relay based on circumstances.
5. Terminal blocks are absolutely essential for every cabinet. They can be configured according to signal quantity. If it’s just a simple PLC control cabinet, these items are basically required. If other devices need to be included in the control cabinet, it depends on specific situations. For example, it may be necessary to provide power for some field instruments or small control boxes, which might require increasing available space. Or if you want to connect the PLC to a host computer, additional switches may be needed depending on circumstances.
