Abstract
- Safety protection aspects
- Personal protective equipment: Operators must wear insulated gloves and insulated shoes to avoid direct contact with live parts and prevent electric shock accidents. Insulated gloves and shoes should be regularly checked for their insulation performance to ensure they can effectively prevent electric shock.
- Preventing arc injuries: When operating electrical components such as circuit breakers and contactors that are under load, arcs may be generated. Operators should maintain a safe distance and avoid exposing their face and body near the operating area to prevent arc burns.
- Correct use of tools: Use tools that meet safety standards for operations, such as well-insulated operating handles. Tools should be inspected before use to ensure their integrity and insulation, preventing electric shock or short circuits due to tool issues during operation.
- Operational sequence aspects
- Power-on sequence: Strictly follow the sequence from the power supply side to the load side when powering on. First, close the main power switch, check if the voltage is normal, and then sequentially close the circuit breakers of each branch. This ensures that during the power-on process, the power supply gradually loads onto each load, avoiding excessive inrush current caused by simultaneously loading multiple loads, which could damage the power grid and equipment.
- Power-off sequence: Opposite to the power-on sequence, power-off should be done from the load side to the power supply side. First, disconnect the circuit breakers of each branch to stop each load one by one, and finally disconnect the main power switch. This sequence can prevent adverse effects on equipment and the power grid due to abnormal situations such as back electromotive force caused by sudden loss of power to loads during power-off.
- Equipment status inspection aspects
- Pre-operation inspection: Before any operation, carefully check the appearance of the distribution cabinet, ensuring that the cabinet door is closed properly, there are no damages or deformations on the cabinet body, and that ventilation openings are not blocked. At the same time, check whether instruments such as voltmeters and ammeters on the dashboard are functioning normally and whether their pointers are at zero.
- Observation during operation: During operations such as powering on, powering off, or controlling equipment, closely observe changes in instrument readings. For example, after closing a branch circuit breaker, check whether the ammeter reading is within normal range to determine if there is an overload; when starting motors or other equipment, observe whether the voltmeter reading is stable to ensure normal startup of equipment with voltage fluctuations within acceptable limits.
- Post-operation review: After completing operations, recheck the status of electrical components inside the distribution cabinet. Check whether the circuit breaker’s open/close status is correct, whether the contacts of contactors are well closed or opened, and whether protective elements like thermal relays have reset normally. Also, check whether instrument indications match the actual operating status of the equipment.
- Fault handling aspects
- Overload and short circuit handling: When an overload or short circuit fault occurs, the circuit breaker will automatically trip. Do not rush to reset; first check for fault causes. Inspect for damaged lines or short circuit points, check if equipment is damaged, and determine if overload is due to abnormal operation of equipment. Only after troubleshooting can you reset.
- Handling other abnormal situations: If other abnormal situations occur such as smoke, strange odors, or unusual noises, immediately stop operations and cut off power. Ensure safety before inspecting the distribution cabinet for abnormal causes such as damaged electrical components or poor line connections. For damaged components, replace them promptly; for poorly connected lines, reconnect them properly before restoring power after verification.
