Abstract

The box-type substation mainly consists of transformers and box-type outdoor switchgear, which are commonly used power generation equipment. Excessive temperatures and water ingress can damage the equipment during use, and in severe cases, it may cause fires. Therefore, it must be waterproof and have heat dissipation capabilities.

Waterproof: Although the underground combined transformer of the box-type substation can operate submerged in water, sufficient consideration should be given to the waterproofing and drainage of the pit foundation to ensure the long-term safe and reliable operation of the underground transformer. The bottom of the pit can use a prefabricated pit structure, and the top ventilation openings can effectively ventilate and prevent rain. The bottom of the pit is laid with water, sand, and pebbles, allowing water to directly seep underground. For parts above the pit foundation, a prefabricated fully enclosed concrete pit structure can effectively prevent surface water from flowing in and groundwater from seeping into the pit.

Heat dissipation: The underground transformer of the box-type substation uses low-loss products or amorphous alloy core products to effectively reduce heat generation. The high heat resistance rating of the transformer also enhances its overload capacity. There are inlet and outlet fans between the distribution box and the pit to ensure the normal operation of the transformer below.

Using water, sand, pebbles, and constant ring crystal alloy core materials to ensure waterproofing and heat dissipation for the box-type substation makes equipment operation smoother, improves work efficiency, extends service life, and brings better returns to enterprises.
