Abstract

1. In one scenario of a DC power supply, there is current but no operating voltage; in another scenario, there is operating voltage but no current. When either of these situations occurs, the operator should check whether the power supply load is good, whether there is a short circuit fault or disconnection, and whether the load meets the standards. Additionally, before operating the DC power supply, it is important to check if the power circuit is connected incorrectly. If connected incorrectly, the power supply may be damaged, affecting operational efficiency.

1. In one scenario of a DC power supply, there is current but no operating voltage; in another scenario, there is operating voltage but no current. When either of these situations occurs, the operator should check whether the power supply load is good, whether there is a short circuit fault or disconnection, and whether the load meets the standards. Additionally, before operating the DC power supply, the operator should check if the power circuit is connected incorrectly. If connected incorrectly, the power supply may be damaged, affecting operational efficiency.

2. When adjusting the operating voltage of a DC power supply, if the full-load operating voltage cannot be reached, the main reason is that even when we are at full load, the power supply system continues to consume a small amount of current. If you turn the "current adjustment" down to zero, with current completely at zero, naturally the full-load operating voltage cannot rise. Therefore, the current control knob should generally not be adjusted to zero.

3. If a DC power supply has output voltage and output current but cannot adjust the operating voltage, this may primarily be due to the operator's unclear understanding of the definitions of "constant current source" and "constant current power supply". In simple terms, if it is a "constant current power supply" lamp, it indicates that during operation, the power supply is in constant current mode; thus, the output voltage often cannot be adjusted because the current operating voltage is determined by the load.

As long as you adjust the "current adjustment" knob, the output current will change and so will the output voltage; the performance indicators of a DC power supply can be divided into two main categories: one category reflects the inherent characteristics of the DC power supply, such as input operating voltage, output voltage, output current, and output regulation range; the other category reflects the quality standards of the DC power supply, including reliability, equivalent internal resistance (output resistance), harmonic distortion voltage, and temperature coefficient.
